As a self-taught woodworker, Leah Houghtaling's work has always grown out of functional needs combined with her desire to be in motion. In each piece she creates, she explores the natural lines and contours of the wood, allowing the wood to come alive with textures, lines, colors, and shadows.
Leah works closely with her clients to build custom furniture and functional art that is just right for them in their home or business. She uses sustainably harvested local wood and non-toxic finishes whenever possible. When you commission Leah to build what you need, you will receive a high-quality beautiful piece, with an original design every time.
Leah's artwork and furniture can currently be seen at Rasa Spa in Ithaca, NY; Hospicecare of Tompkins County; and Culture+Commerce Project’s gallery in Hudson, NY.
